Hey, Anyone believe that Black Sabbath are the true founding fathers of Heavy Metal back in late 68/69 when they finally changed their name to that of a horror film? The classic albums that followed for 10 years until their sad demise through in-fighting and back-biting.
The classic tracks like Paranoid, Iron Man, Children of the Grave, Black Sabbath to name but a few. Even the ballad Changes, sadly ruined by Kelly and Ozzy a few years back, from Vol.4 was a masterpiece.
Many say Purple and Zepellin started the ball rolling, along with Yes, etc. But, Tony Iommi's riffs were the beginning of something that surely shook the music scene to the core at the time, the reverberations of which are still being felt today.
